In spring and summer, the days cannot be long enough for extensive cycling tours or swimming in the lake. In the golden autumn, the heath landscape slowly transforms into a colourful masterpiece: perfect for a relaxed wellness break and long walks. Even in the deepest snow, romantic winter hikes and horse-drawn carriage rides at the dam are a dream.

We agree: The Oldenburger Münsterland is the most underestimated region in Germany. It is definitely not dröög (“Plattdeutsch: boring”) here. But if everyone knew how wonderful it was here, it might be a bit more crowded and the peaceful retreats would no longer be a free space.

ACTIVE ON THE GREEN

In the immediate vicinity of Hotel Heidegrund, the Golflclub Thülsfelder Talsperre offers you an 18-hole course of international standard – beautifully situated and with many possibilities for every handicap. In addition, the club also has a 9-hole course to offer – for “warming up” or just for a first try.

You can use the club’s extensive training and practice facilities (driving range, chipping and pitching greens, putting green) free of charge and without any range fee. Beginners & curious people are always welcomed by the golf pros of the affiliated golf school.

In the winter time the new floodlight system brings light into the dark – perfectly for the afternoons in autumns!

As a hotel guest at Hotel Heidegrund you will receive a green fee reduction of 25% (booking at our hotel).

New in 2021: Our Hercules E-Bikes arrived!
The Thülsfelder Talsperre nature reserve and its entire surrounding heath landscape are made for long bicycle tours – few mountains, changing landscapes and lots of far-sightedness. Our rental bikes will take you everywhere!
Note: a reservation in advance is not possible – first come, first serve!

Dogs are very welcome in our hotel and restaurant area. So nothing stands between you, your holiday and your dog, because for a small extra charge we provide you with a water and food bowl and take over the thorough cleaning afterwards. You can book our “dog set” within the booking process.

More than 500 animals in enclosures, aviaries and walk-in outdoor enclosures. This ranges from exotic lions and tigers to various species of monkeys, jungle birds and pelicans to meerkats, pot-bellied pigs, llamas or zebras.
