We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that, out of consideration for all our guests, we unfortunately do not allow dogs in our restaurant and bar area.

Wow - all dog rooms are already fully booked for the turn of the year. Why not spend your winter holiday with us a little earlier on the beautiful Advent weekends or on the quiet days at the beginning of the year?

Around the Heidegrund

The Hotel Heidegrund is located in the centre of the Thülsfelder Talsperre nature reserve and is therefore surrounded by beautiful forest nature.
Many footpaths lead through our hotel forest directly to the dam and even into the heath and moorland!
So here we go!

Our dog set

FROM THE HEART FOR OUR FOUR-LEGGED FRIENDS

So that you can cuddle with your four-legged friend as usual, there is our All-round carefree dog set.

For €25,00/ night we will bring a fresh dog blanket, water and food bowl to your room.
We take care of the thorough final cleaning.

You can add our "dog set" as an extra during your room booking or by mail add.

In the winter months, small towels are also available at our front door for wet paws.

A unique nature experience awaits you and your four-legged friend on the 1.9 km circular trail with ten exciting exercise stations - including seesaw, slalom and balancing log.

Tips & hints

for a holiday with your dog at the dam

We have put together some initial tips and advice on hiking with dogs. These recommendations should help you to plan the perfect stay before you book your next Heidegrund dog holiday.

Restaurant area: We ask for your understanding that we cannot allow dogs in our restaurant & bar area out of consideration for all our guests.

Wellness area: Dogs are not permitted in the indoor and especially outdoor wellness areas.

Leash obligation: Dogs are generally allowed at the Thülsfelder Talsperre if you keep your dog on a lead. Please note: In the nature reserve Thülsfeld dam there is a Compulsory use of a lead all year round. This therefore also applies outside the Breeding and setting season from 1 April to 15 July. Dogs are not allowed on the beaches! There is no separate dog beach.

Hygiene: We kindly ask all our dog owners to leave the hiking trails and paths clean. There are some dog stations with poo bags along the main paths, but we recommend that you carry some with you for safety reasons

Dog guarantee: At the Garrel dog meadow you can treat your four-legged friend to some exercise and movement with his peers. Together with other dogs of the same species, your sweet furry friend can have fun in the special Dog area of the Garrel dog meadow play and romp.
At the same time, both you and your dog can make new friends

New Year's Eve with a dog: Unfortunately, all rooms are fully booked for the turn of the year 2025/26. With us, you can spend New Year's Eve without firecrackers, rockets and fireworks, as New Year's Eve fireworks are strictly prohibited in the nature reserve. A clear plus point for all paws!
